The Royal Institution (RI) invite you to their online event titled "LIVESTREAM: Stephen Hawking: A memoir of friendship and physics" that is free for everyone to access. However, donations are an extremely important source of support for the RI and they would be most grateful if you are able to contribute.

The RI are a small, independent charity and receive no government funding. Their income from ticket sales and venue hire has been significantly reduced and will continue to fall. Donations, alongside membership subscriptions are vital to the organisations development and survival.

SUMMARY
Stephen Hawking was one of the most famous and influential physicists in the world.

In this talk, discover the man who has inspired countless scientists-to-be, whose research on the laws of black holes and the origin of the Universe charted new territory.

Leonard Mlodinow recalls his nearly two-decades as a friend and collaborator with Stephen Hawking, bringing a complex man into focus like no one has before.

SPEAKER
Leonard Mlodinow is a theoretical physicist and author, recognized for groundbreaking discoveries in physics, and as the author of five best-selling books. His book 'The Grand Design', co-authored with Stephen Hawking, reached no.1 on the New York Times best-seller list.

His book 'Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior', won the 2013 PEN/E.O. Wilson award for literary science writing; and his book 'The Drunkard's Walk: How Randomness Rules Our Lives' was chosen as a New York Times notable book, and short-listed for the Royal Society book award.

Dr Mlodinow is also known through his many public lectures and media appearances on programs such ranging from 'Morning Joe', to 'Through the Wormhole', and for debating Deepak Chopra on 'ABC's Nightline'.
