Please register for the event via this link: SUMMARY Join physicist Suzie Sheehy as she uses stories, demonstrations, and a bit of Ri history, to explore how these physics experiments have impacted our lives. From the cathode ray tube used in TVs to the race to split open the atomic nucleus. In this talk Suzie will uncover how our curiosity-driven determination to understand the microscopic brought about a revolution in physics, and how experiments brought physics into the real world, putting what was theoretical firmly in the hands of the people. SPEAKER An award-winning public speaker, presenter and science communicator, Suzie is dedicated to sharing science beyond the academic community. She has delivered professional lectures and keynote presentations, written and delivered live shows to tens of thousands of students, is an expert TV presenter of Impossible Engineering for Discovery Channel and in 2018 delivered her first TED talk as part of TEDx Sydney, which has received over 1.4M views. Suzie's book The Matter of Everything: Twelve Experiments that Changed Our World is available from Amazon and all good bookstores. TIMING
