Arrive at the end of Cornwall
Day 2 Sunday 8th August
Lands End to Plymouth - 94.1 miles
Day 3 Monday 9th August
Plymouth to Taunton - 80.1 miles
Day 4 Tuesday 10th August
Taunton to Gloucester - 80.9 miles
Day 5 Wednesday 11th August
Gloucester to Stoke - 107.4miles
Day 6 Thursday 12th August
Stoke to Carnforth - 91.9 miles
Day 7 Friday 13th August
Carnforth to Gretna Green - 76 miles(Travelling though the Lake District?)
Day 8 Saturday 14th August
Gretna Green to Livingstone - 85 miles
Day 9 Sunday 15th August
Livingstone to Perth - 71 miles
Day 10 Monday 16th August
Perth to Tomintoul - 81 miles(Cragorages here we come)
Day 11 Tuesday 17th August
Tomintoul to Invershin - 49 miles
Day 12 Wednesday 18th August
Invershin to Thurso - 95 mile
Day 13 Thursday 19th August
Thurso to John O'Groat - 19.9 miles
Day 14 Friday 20th August
Travel back to England by vehicles.
Isn't it better to cycle from John O'Groats Down?
Not really. Although psychologically it seems like we would be heading downhill, the prevailing windsblow from the south-west. The thought of pedalling into a headwind for 12 days doesn't really appeal!
The full routing details will be carried in several stages.
- An outline routes involving IVC clubs, places of interest and where we are staying. Set up beforethe trip using www.bikeroutetoaster.com. These routes will be downloaded to a laptop and usedas a guide for the final details on each day.
- Due to the different levels of cyclist on the tour it may be necessary to have various routes fromeasy A roads to adventurous hard roads over big mountains.
- We will ensure that the routes will finish daily at the same places.
