AIVC - A National Community of Social Clubs

The Association of IVCs (AIVC) is the collective name given to the 46 IVC clubs spread throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

Election of the AIVC Committee

Every year between March and April, the AIVC has a National IVC Weekend and Conference. The National IVC Weekend provides an opportunity for IVC members to enjoy a short break in another part of the country with lots of activities organised by members of the host club for both weekend visitors and club delegates. The Conference sessions are used by club delegates to discuss matters of interest to their club with other club delegates.
It is also at the Conference that the small volunteer AIVC National Committee is elected from amongst the Conference delegates. The Officers of the AIVC Committee are:
Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, News Officer, National Development Officer, Communications Officer

The Role of the AIVC Committee

The AIVC Committee are unpaid volunteers whose main role is defined in the 'Objects' section of the AIVC Constitution. Essentially the AIVC Committee is tasked with providing the mechanisms for communications and development between the member clubs of the Association.
As the AIVC Committee are generally experienced club officers, they can also offer valuable help and advice to Club Officers and members. The AIVC Committee also tries to encourage clubs to run inter-club activities and holidays and take part in national initiatives.
The AIVC Committee is responsible for managing the Conference part of the National Weekend. This includes provision of meeting papers such as the agenda and any supporting documentation.
