What does the AIVC do for us..?!
A light-hearted, yet provocative list of what the AIVC has to offer to its member clubs.
NATIONAL CONFERENCE & IVC WEEKEND
The IVC National Weekend and Conference occurs around Easter time and is an opportunity for members of clubs throughout the country to get together for a social weekend. The weekend also incorporates the National Conference which is the Annual General Meeting of the member clubs of the Association of IVCs (AIVC).The Conference and National IVC Weekend is mostly residential providing 2 or 3 nights full board accommodation. Members from a few of the local clubs will often attend the Conference as day delegates if they live close enough to the venue.
The AGM business sessions of the weekend are held at a conference centre or the lecture facilities of a higher education establishment, depending on the venue chosen. The Conference business sessions and discussion groups take place on the Saturday and Sunday mornings with the rest of the weekend devoted to social activities.
There is always a welcoming ice breaker in the bar on the Friday evening and a large social event on the Saturday night. Depending on the venue, this will often be a Dinner and Dance which goes on until late.

EXTRA FUN
As well as being for AGM business, our National AIVC Weekend and Conference in April each year is FUN for all those who take part. staying within the confines of your own club may be enough for you today, but meeting people from other IVCs is a whole new pleasure, and you can do it at the national weekend plus all these activities:AIVC Weekends Sports Days Badminton Matches
Walking Weekends House-Parties
AIVC National Weekend and Conference
and all the other Inter-Club events and activities members of IVC are able to organise.
Members are able to organise these things because we all belong to one organisation, able to communicate with each other, which all adds up to FUN, FUN and FUN for the hundreds of people who take part year after year!
ALL THIS is kept going, year after year, by club committees, individual members who get involved or volunteer to do or organise things, and last but by no means least, by a small committee of about six people called AIVC who hold it all together, for nothing other than the satisfaction of helping you get all these things.
WHAT DOES AIVC ASK FOR ALL OF THIS?
About a tenth of the fee charged to club members! Does any club give its members ten times as much as all this?!
