New Year weekend 2009
Decadent / Posh Weekend
2nd - 5th January 2009

Birmingham IVC has developed a decadent habit of spending a weekend early in January in a posh hotel to recover from the festive season. We usually stay 2 or 3 nights – Friday to Sunday – depending on how soon we want to be back at work ! In past years we have been very pleased welcomed members from IVCs from all around the country.

Next year our excellent 4-star hotel is in the centre of Cardiff – it is easy to get to by car or public transport from most of the UK. There are many cultural sites, retail therapy and real ale pubs within walking distance of the hotel. A selection of visits to other local attractions as well low / high level walks will be organised. There will be a welcoming buffet on Friday evening, on Saturday a dinner & dance/disco and on Sunday entertainment to be decided !

The cost ? We have been able to negotiate the following very reasonable prices - per person per night they are :

Twin/double £47 Single £62 Executive Double £55

Spring Bank Holiday City Break to Krakow
Weds 29 April - Mon 4th May 2009

Members of Bristol & Bath IVC are going on a trip to the historic city of Krakow.

This medieval city looks like it has fallen straight out of a fairytale book, with its bustling market square, spiralling gothic towers, castles and legends about dragons. Explore the narrow backstreets, hidden courtyards and the network of underground cellars and tunnels. Krakow is known as the cultural capital of Poland through its love of music, poetry and theatre. After years of occupation and struggle, Krakow has emerged a proud city with a strong sense of identity, yet it has still maintained its artistic and fun-loving soul.

We are flying from Bristol but you can fly from your local airport and meet up with us for all or part of the 6-day break.

It is a holiday weekend in Poland also so the city will be buzzing with music and special outdoor events to celebate the holiday.

Accommodation TBA but is very reasonably priced in Poland. We will look for rooms in the city centre near the old town square.
