PORTSMOUTH & ISLE OF WIGHT Th 5 Fe – Sa 5 Fe; 10:05 on the London Victoria train or 12:20 at Portsmouth Harbour station exit. People are welcome to join me.  Either come for a day or the whole period.  I am at Portsmouth to complete my use of the Historic Dockyard Pass, which I was unable to last October.  I will be going to visit the submarine and then if time, onto the Mary Rose exhibition.   There is scope for visiting the Spinnaker Tower and a meal before I retire to my hotel.

The next day I will taking the Hovercraft from Southsea to Ryde at 10:30 to take bus rides round some of the island to see some of the sights (I won’t be on an open deck!), before I go to my hotel there.  Then next day with a return journey on an old London Transport tube train to Shanklin, before returning to Ryde in time for the 14:15 hovercraft, then the 15:29 back from Portsmouth Harbour to London Victoria.
