Introduction to issues re Conference such as cost, content, venue and subsidies. Please enter below your views on the items below concerning conference organisation
Comments: "We like flexible different places to go" "Primary concern is cost" "1. Should be reasonably centrally located in UK on good rail routes e.g. Central England, London, York 2. Suitable venue for leisure weekend or non conference attendees" "Costs should be kept affordable for clubs and top-end venues should therefore be avoided." "A choice within close distance would suit all preferences for accommodation but meetings in cheapest option" "Would prefer a reasonable level of accommodation i.e. working lights, sockets and a desk & chair in the room" "Mixed availability for rooms - doubles, singles and twins en-suite" "Any reasonably priced venues e.g. larger youth hostels" "Pref somewhere to stay that is easy for public transport" "AIVC should be looking for cheaper alternatives for the sake of the clubs who send their delegates to Conference" "University venues tend to be cheaper. Optional full leisure weekend to encourage others to attend. Aim for c. £150per person in total. Various costs to suit" "Must be affordable for all clubs to send at least 1 delegate" "Value for money rather than cheapest i.e. make option attractive" "Personal preference is for Saturday dinner to Sunday after lunch to keep costs down for attendees too." "Prefer 2 days" "I think the cost of sending delegates to Conference is putting some clubs off. I think we need to move away from staying in nice hotels to staying in travel lodges for example" "The costs seem extravagent but don't want to go to the other extreme.
